Many of you might be working in Canva for a while but have you explored some really cool and useful features of Canva AI ? If not , here is a short introduction of these features. Although there is much to explore in Canva once you jump in to find element and templates but there is a lot more for you in the app section of Canva which is here:
In the app section, You will see categories of apps. One category is about ” create something new”. Here you will find many apps such as text to image app(really cool), character builder, draw in Canva(used for hand drawing),QR code and bitmoji(emojis). For Bitmoji, you will need to connect your Bitmoji account. The rest of the applications are built in apps in this section.

There are many more apps in Canva if you scroll down the app page, where you can “discover new media” or connect different accounts to import your content.
Let’s first talk about Text to Image feature.
Canva Text to Image
“Text to Image” in Canva is a new feature. You can type in a long tail keyword like ” a monkey jumping on the tree” or a “cruise ship sailing in the sea” and you will find related images that you can use in your posts.
Draw with Canva
Draw(beta) gives you an option to draw with markers, glitter pens, highlighters etc.You can add effects with hand drawn elements like shapes and text.Look at the example below.
Canva Character builder
Canva also offers you character building options.You can find Canva character builder in the “app” section of the left side of your workspace in Canva. You have different options to change the colours and shapes of characters. You can add different characters in the slide as shown in the example photo.
In the Canva character Builder app, you can choose the head part, the body part and the sitting, standing or running position of a character, and combining them as you like, you can make your own character. You can also change the skin tone and hair colour of your characters in the Canva character building The picture of two girls and an adult is an example of how characters are made using Canva character builder app.
Canva QR code
QR codes are black and white squares that can be scanned with a smartphone camera to reveal information, such as a website URL or contact information. With QR codes you can drive traffic to your website or url. You need to give your website url and Canva will add this address to the design you make. People who scan this QR code in your design will be driven to your website.
These were recent new features of Canva. They are highly useful in giving you extra options for your designs.
