Canva has exploded in popularity in the recent years and one of its reason is that it is constantly improving its artificial intelligence features and introducing new ones. In this post, I will be discussing some amazing Canva ai tools that have great potential for designers, website builders, small business owners, content creators, educators, marketers and so on.Whether you’re a professional designer or a complete beginner, Canva’s AI-powered features can streamline the design process and help you create visually stunning content.

How to Use Canva AI Tools
1.Canva Magic Design
Our first Canva artificial intelligence feature or Canva ai tool is Magic design. Most of the Canva AI features’ names start with the word magic.So here is what magic design does.
You write the name of the design you want to make such as” instagram travel design”, Pinterest video pin”, Facebook Profile cover” etc and then you insert a picture to start off. You can upload the picture from the previous uploads in Canva or upload it from your computer, See how it looks like in Canva in the following picture.
1.First you will type in the search box the kind of design you need and then upload a picture you need for the design.
2.You will see your picture inserted in some suggested designs created by Canva AI.
3.Once you see the suggested templates on the screen, you will also see options to select the colour scheme and styles.
You can further customize the template when you go to the next screen which will be like this. Click on the customize this template button and you will find the regular design panel to make more changes to your template.
The main idea behind magic design tool is to start you off with a template and thus saving your time in designing your post from scratch. This Canva AI tool is very useful for people designing posts regularly for clients or their own social accounts.
2.Magic Eraser
As the name suggests, this Canva ai tool erases elements from your design. But it does not just erase them, it also replaces them with other objects of your choice or one’s created with ai prompts. See the example of how magic eraser feature works in Canva in the following images.The magic eraser tool will appear as soon as you click on the image. The editing options will open on the left.
1. I used the magic eraser tool to erase the tablet on the table. You need to highlight the object with the eraser. You can also increase or decrease the size of the brush from your left panel.
Magic Eraser’s Second Feature
You can find magic eraser in the photo editing options on the left side of your panel.
The second task the magic eraser can do is to replace or add the image that you ask. For example, you highlight an area with magic eraser and then give a prompt like” flying birds”, ” flower pot” etc and it will create some images for you to select. Let’s see the examples here:
- Select the object or area where you want to insert an image. Enter the prompt in the “describe your edit” space. For this example I typed “a black car”.
2. You can choose from the images that the magic eraser tool creates. You can find more images or regenerate them using the button at the bottom.
3.Translate Canva Ai Tools
The translation tool is located on the left side of your workspace under apps. You can translate the text on an image by using the Canva ai tools for translation.
For using the tool you will check the settings of the tool and make sure they are on.
Then select the language you want your text to translate into. In my example I selected French.
I selected current page from the options and selected the text on the page. The translation tool translated the text into French and made another copy of the slide with the new translation.
4.Animation Canva AI Tools
Canva ai animation tool is a very interesting tool to animate objects the way you like. You can find it when you highlight an image or element on your slide and then click animate on the top bar. You will see “create an animation” tool right on the top of your left sidebar.
One thing that I discovered was that you can animate an object static or moving, as well as multiple elements on the same slide if you group them and want them to animate them together.

5.Canva Background Remover AI Tool
The Canva background remover is the probably the most commonly known of all Canva’s Tools. You do not want a background on an object and you can remove it with one click with Canva “Remove Background” under photo editing tools. Let’s see an example here:
6.AI Magic Write
The following text has been created by magic write feature in Canva. As you can see on the screen. You can access it from the sparkle button on the bottom right side of your screen. You can give the magic write a prompt and it will write you some text on it. You can generate ideas with it or find captions or descriptions for your social media posts. In this example, I prompted the magic “Write to write few sentences about Canada” and this is what it came up with.
7.Canva Draw Feature
Canva ai tools include some basic drawing tools such as pencil, pen, eraser and highlighter. These has some uses for creating hand drawn effects on your image. You can also create some basic shapes like triangle, stars, square, oval or round shapes. These shapes can also change them into an almost perfect square oval or rectangle shapes if you keep holding your mouse to the closing edge. Lets see the draw feature example here:
I wrote home with the red pen. Yes, you have the options of choosing colours on the colour palette and also choosing the weight of your line. I created a rectangle around the car and initially it was not perfect but I held my cursor towards the closing point of the rectangle for few seconds and it turned into a better rectangle.
8.Magic Presentations(Magic Design)
Magic presentation can be created by typing in Presentation templates in the Canva Search bar and then clicking on the magic design feature.The main idea behind the Magic design of presentations is that you get a template of all your presentation slides with titles and descriptions and start off quickly on your presentation. There are different styles of presentations for you to choose from and also you can select your colour palette. You can add or delete slides as you use your presentation template.Here is an example of what you will see after typing in a prompt such as”Tips for Small Businesses”.
9. Canva AI tool Beat Sync
With Canva Beat Sync, you have the convenience of synchronizing your sound tracks with your video clips.Arrange your video clips and audio tracks in the timeline. Click on the music waveform to change the volume or cut a part of the track. If you select “Beat Sync” and click “Sync now,” our beat sync tool will automatically sync your content if you have the Pro version. You can also manually sync beat markers for free if you prefer.
